Hey!
First of all I just wanted to thank you for this amazing good piece of software. I really enjoy using it, and hopefullt I'll buy sometimes in the beginning of next year!
Over to my two questions:
Forgive me if I'm asking you a stupid question, and also if this have been asked before (probably has, but anyway).
In Metatraffic you have to either choose asp tracking, or you have to choose javascript tracking.
I have seen a solution which uses both methods side by side, so that we can have the benefits of both tracking methods. The solution is asp-based and is called ASP Stats Generator (www.weppos.com)
Therefore I'm wondering: Why doesn't Metatraffic support the same? It seems like it's possible, and if you ask me I would say that it's good to get as much details as possible about a users surfing habits on a website (probably).
Secong question: Programs like Smarterstats and AW-stats also reads information from website logs, not just from script tracking, and displays it in an understandable way.
Have you though8)t of adding this functionality to MT in a later version, or?
Asp and Javascript tracking. :)
Hi,
There will be a hybrid logging option added in a future version of MetaTraffic that will support Javascript and ASP logging methods.
Supporting log files is something that has been considered for a future version but whether this will ever happen is another story. There are a lot of potential issues having an ASP application reading log files. Realistically, MetaTraffic would need a log reader service installed on the web server to be able to do this efficiently.
