Can't get setup to work properly

Posted by neonlys [December 8, 2004]

Hi,

Could you help me with a problem.
I just downloaded mt2 lite from your website, but I have some problem trying to install it on MySQL 4.0.22

I get the following error:
There was a database error:

Number: -2147467259
Source: ADODB.Connection.1
Description: SQLState: 42000 Native Error Code: 1064 [TCX][MyODBC]You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1' at line 1

Was hoping that you could guide me to what the actual problem is.

Regards
Kris :)

UPDATE:
Hmm... just found out that I have to use mysql 4.1 or greater. Is it impossible then with my current mysql version?

I have another domain that uses the most recent version of mysql. Does mt2 support connections to external mysql servers on other domains?

I tried, but I got the same error then... :(

Reason for asking is: I want to track the domain www.mydomain.com (which of obviously reasons won't work due to mysql being to old). Can I then track www.mydomain.com through the domain www.mydomain2.com then? (having mt2 on the mydomain2.com sever, or just inserting the sql manually).

My question would then actually be: Can mt2 track "external websites"?? :P

MySQL 4.1 is the current, recommended version of MySQL. It is possible that MetaTraffic could be used to track sites on different servers using Javascript tracking, but this has not been tested. Its something that will be tested and documented in a future version of MetaTraffic.
