I'm using the 404 tracker outlined in your Resources section which works fairly well.
A cool future request is to add on the offending IP address to the end of the url in the reports such as:
/_404.asp?404;http://www.website.com/badpage.asp(66.44.22.33)
Lets go one step further and have a separate 404 filter under Pages & Files.
