In the earlier (1.xx) version of MetaTraffic, there was a setting, I believe in the config file where you could set records to be automatically deleted after a certain number of days. For example, if I only wanted to keep track of records from the last two weeks, I would set the number of days to 14 and anything older was automatically deleted.
This was a great maintennance feature as I find that if I go too long before cleaning out past records for a client, the process has a tendency to "hang" and can lock up the website. It also takes a long time in most cases, even if I'm only deleting about a month's accumulation of data.
Is there a way to automatically delete records past a set number of days in version 2.xx? If not, I'm curious to why was it removed. As I said, it was a great maintenance feature, especially when you've several sites running MetaTraffic. Any plans on restoring it to future versions?
Automatically deleting older records
It was removed because it caused too many problems doing this in real time during the logging process. We are looking at putting this feature back in for version 3 but separate from the logging routine.
