i am using v.2.23 lite and have noticed that the unique no of visitors in the summary, is different than the number of unique visitors in visitors>daily unique visitors

This is a known issue. When caculating the unqiue visitors in the summary report it considers uniqueness based on the report range whereas in the daily report it calculates uniqueness on a day to day basis.

If a visitor from one IP address visits once a day for two days and you do a report for those two days it will show up as follows:
Report summary: Unique Visitors will say 1
Daily Unique Visitors: Total will say 2, one for each day
This is because the IP address is considered non-unique over the entire date range for the report summary report whereas its considered unique for only a day in the Daily Unique Visitors report.
